OUR PASTOR

Eric L. Booker, DMin is the former principal of the Chicago-based, Tabernacle Christian Academy (the largest fully accredited private school in Chicago and the third largest in the state of Illinois).  TCA has educated over 16,000 students and maintained a 98% graduation rate and a drop out rate of zero during operation.

Today, he works in local government as the Director of Communications for the City of Country Club Hills, Illinois and the content manager for Comcast Channel 4.

As a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Eric promotes scholarship, fellowship, good character, and the uplifting of humanity. 

Growing up in a pastor's home, Pastor Eric accepted Christ at an early age and followed that action with a life of total surrender and obedience to Christ.  It was under that influence that he accepted the calling to Gospel Ministry in 1993 and later ordained in August of 1999

Pastor Eric has served the Church of God in Christ on local, district, jurisdictional, and national levels.  

As a national adjutant for the Church of God in Christ, he served as the Episcopal Adjutant to his father, Bishop Ocie Booker in the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Illinois.  He has contributed to district work as the District Youth President for the D.A. Reed, Sr. District, and has served his local church as the Sunday School Superintendent and Minister of Music.

 

Having completed prescribed ministerial and pastoral training at the C.H. Mason/William Roberts College of Ministry, obtaining the Doctor of Ministry Degree, and over 20 years of service to the Local, District, State, and National church, Eric currently serves as the Pastor of the Greater Tabernacle Cathedral Church of God in Christ and the District Superintendent of the Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson Memorial District in the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Illinois.

Eric is married to Yolanda of 26 years and they have 2 daughters, Leah Mariah and Erica Lynn.
